About the Contest
The BOOSTER Design Contest invites creative thinkers to explore new design possibilities enabled by Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) technology. Organized within the framework of the EU-funded BOOSTER project, the contest challenges participants to integrate lightweight, flexible, and customizable OPV solutions into innovative building-applied and architectural concepts.
BOOSTER bridges advanced energy technology with contemporary design practice, encouraging ideas that combine aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.
Who Can Participate
- Creative thinkers with an interest in energy and sustainability (e.g. students, designers, architects)
- Individuals, teams, or organizations
- Participants based in the EU
- Unlimited submissions per participant
- Free of charge
Design Challenge
Design an innovative concept using a 5 m² OPV film supplied by ASCA GmbH & Co. KG, a pioneer in lightweight and flexible organic photovoltaic technology.
What we are looking for:
- Bold and original design ideas
- Creative integration of OPV into building-applied or architectural applications
- Strong focus on form, function, and user experience
What we are not looking for:
- Detailed engineering calculations
- Highly technical specifications
What You Can Win
- 1st Prize: Realization of the design as a small-scale demonstrator, supported by the BOOSTER consortium, and presentation at the BOOSTER Final Event
- 2nd Prize: Design promotion and invitation to the BOOSTER Final Event
- 3rd Prize: Invitation to the BOOSTER Final Event
The prize emphasizes realization, visibility, and professional exposure. No monetary award is provided.
All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
